Introduction

Hello! 

I am beginning this blog to record the recovery of my foster dog, Sydney.  I have been fostering for Rudy's Rescue (Rochester, NY) since December 2010; Sydney is my third foster.  I am currently a graduate student, beginning the PhD program in History at the University of Rochester this fall.  As a PhD student, my schedule is very flexible - this is why I am able to give Sydney the extensive attention she needs.  I am a fierce animal lover and have a particular soft spot for dogs.  I love fostering rescue dogs and helping them find their forever homes, but I certainly don't do it all on my own: my fiance, Peter, who is also an ardent dog lover, is my partner in this endeavor.  We are in for a challenge with Sydney this summer, but we are determined to help her recover.  This blog will chronicle our challenges and triumphs, our frustrations and joys.  I cannot wait for the day I can write on this blog that Sydney is walking again.
